List sharing terms of use

Before sharing a shopping list or joining a shared list, you must read the following information.

• Shared lists are stored on a remote server. You must be connected to the internet to share a list and to join or synchronize a shared list.
• After they have been synchronized at least once, shared lists may be used offline; in this case, synchronization is delayed until the internet is available again.
• The lists are partially encrypted on the server. The encryption key is specific to each list and is included in the share link of the list. It is not stored on the server. Encryption especially applies to
  • the name of the list,
  • the name and the icon of the categories,
  • the name, the comment and the quantity of the items.
  However, neither the number of categories or items in the list, nor the time they were last updated are encrypted.
• Despite the list's being encrypted, EManListeCourse is not designed for sharing sensitive information.
• List sharing is not designed for long-term cloud storage. The lists are immediately and definitely deleted from the server when one of the users stops sharing it. The lists are also subject to being deleted at anytime without notice, especially if they have been inactive for a long time. When a list is deleted from the server, the users can continue to use it locally on their device.
• The list sharing service is provided without any warranty of merchantability or availability. It can malfunction and be suspended or shut down at anytime. Should this happen, the users could keep using a shared list locally on their device after they suspend or stop its sharing.
